Michael John Flooring | Living Room Flooring Guide

At Michael John we’ve worked at the heart of the flooring industry for over 70 years and our expert team love to provide some of their expert insight into some of the flooring issues facing our customers!

We’ve previously provided flooring guides for a variety of different rooms in your home, but for the first time we’ll be covering the living room.

Traditionally, the living room is an area of the home that inevitably sees a lot of traffic so it’s important that you find the right flooring that’s not only stylish, but also durable.

What type of flooring is best?

The simple answer is it’s whatever fits the interior style of your home and the requirements of your lifestyle. Laminate and LVT flooring continue to rise in popularity due to their capability of providing a more modern feel and durability.

However, don’t forget about carpets! There’s a reason carpets are still a popular choice for living rooms and that’s in no small part due to their custom styles, comfort and ‘homely’ feel.

What do the experts say?

Mark Lucas, Director, Michael John Flooring, said: “Living room flooring is traditionally a tricky one to get right, but we always encourage our customers not to look at rooms in isolation and instead try to find a style of flooring that complements the overall style of their home.

“At Michael John Flooring, we’ve got a range of luxurious carpet options from the very best manufacturers to fit all styles, budgets and requirements. Our laminate, wood and LVT flooring ranges also provides fantastic options for any living room, so please visit us at one of our showrooms or browse our online galleries for more information!”
